Yesterday while on my way to teach a college class in sociology, the most ADORABLE turtle blocked my way.
It was moving S-L-O-W, as turtles do. I didnโt have an extra 10 minutes to wait for it to cross the road. Can you relate?
Thankfully, my spouse left the house when I did and was right behind me. He removed the turtle and I made it to my sociology class on time.
I really enjoy meeting my animal neighbors!
I think it may have been a โboxโ turtle. Just too adorable not to share this story.
As much of a brief inconvenience it was, I am reminded of our neighbors, human and animal. Plants and our environment. We must coexist with compassion, love, and consideration.
What if we thought twice about our actions and not run over others because we are in a rush or thinking solely about ourselves and our needs? The ramifications of doing otherwise would be painful and generational.
It starts with us. It can start big or small. It can start with helping a scared turtle cross the road.
Every deed, small or large ripples across the universe, our spirits, and our hearts.
