Professionally, I have always prided myself on being a continuous learner. There’s something about the thrill of learning something new and then applying it – that captivated me over and over again.
Eventually, after learning and applying, I realized that in some cases – “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.”🤔
I discovered that “new” isn’t always “better”.
It wasn’t until I was 10 years deep into my career that I had an epiphany. This breakthrough changed my perspective and impacted who I am today. It changed how I learn and how I facilitate the learning of others.
It was this…
🌺 The key to deep change is less about learning and more about unlearning.
Unlearning clears the way, making space and getting rid of old ideas so they don’t sabotage your new wisdom.
It’s about readiness to learn and being coachable. It’s about humility and introspection.
Our bodies teach us that in order to breathe in, we must breathe out. What a beautiful lesson…
💞 May we learn to unlearn 💞
